Volunteers are the most important resource community organizations have. The ability of people to work willingly together for the betterment of their community and themselves is a valuable resource. Whether it is an art exhibition or kids event, there is much overall benefit to all involved for their time and efforts in making it a success.

Evaluate your schedule to recognize where you have availability. Although any amount of time dedicated to helping is appreciated, volunteering should be looked at as a serious commitment so organizations have a strong base upon which they can rely.
Consider your life over the next few years. Are there any big milestones coming up that will prevent you from volunteering? Work projects that demand extra time, extended trips, care providing for family?
